Hangzhou, a city in eastern China, is a prominent tech hub gaining increasing international attention. It is home to major companies like Alibaba Group, Unitree Robotics, and DeepSeek, all key players in the artificial intelligence and robotics sectors. Hangzhou's rapid advancements in AI and robotics are making it a focal point in the US-China tech rivalry, with concerns raised about competition and national security. Recently, Alibaba has been reorganizing its AI operations, establishing the Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) Business Group and a dedicated task force for AI model development, both led by CEO Eddie Wu. The city has also hosted German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who met with tech leaders from Alibaba and Unitree, highlighting Hangzhou's growing importance in the global tech landscape.
