Huayucachi

Huayucachi is a location in the Huancayo province of Peru's Andes region. It recently gained prominence as the area near its epicenter for a 5.5-magnitude earthquake that struck on Saturday night. The seismic event, which occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, resulted in significant damage, including collapsed homes and a church. Tragically, at least five people lost their lives, over 20 were injured, and approximately 300 residents were displaced from their homes. Authorities have warned that the number of missing individuals is still unknown, highlighting the ongoing impact of the earthquake on the community.
