Cuba, a communist island nation, is currently facing renewed pressure from the United States, particularly under the leadership of Donald Trump, who has stated, "Kuba ist als Nächstes dran" ("Cuba is next"). This pressure includes a tightened US blockade, contributing to a severe economic crisis on the island. The country is experiencing significant fuel shortages, leading to widespread power outages, rationing of gasoline, and disruptions to public transportation. Several airlines have even reduced flights to Cuba due to the fuel scarcity. Despite the blockade, a Russian oil tanker recently delivered approximately 700,000 barrels of oil to Cuba, seemingly indicating a potential weakening of the US blockade.
