La Jonquera is a Spanish town located near the border with France, specifically in Catalonia. It's become newsworthy due to a surge in French drivers crossing the border to purchase fuel. The recent rise in fuel prices in France, with diesel costing significantly more per liter compared to Spain (a difference of sixty centimes), has incentivized French residents, particularly those in the Pyrénées-Orientales region, to travel to La Jonquera to fill up their vehicles.
