Memmingen

Memmingen, Germany, is currently in the news as the destination for a Ryanair flight that experienced a serious mid-air incident. On a flight originating from Thessaloniki, Greece, a passenger was nearly sucked out of a shattered window. Reports indicate that the window "detached" mid-flight, possibly due to engine failure, causing the cabin to depressurize. A Serbian tourist, described as being in his 60s, was reportedly lifted out of his seat and hung headfirst out of the window for several minutes. Other passengers managed to pull him back inside the aircraft. The man sustained friction burns but was otherwise in good condition and was treated in a hospital upon arrival in Memmingen.
