Naypyidaw

Naypyidaw is the capital city of Myanmar, established by the military junta. It was designed as a fortress-like city, intended to withstand invasion and project an image of control. However, recent reports indicate that the city is showing signs of decay, with empty streets and moldy buildings, reflecting the junta's struggle to maintain control over the country. Naypyidaw is newsworthy due to the ongoing political instability in Myanmar following the coup. Belarus's President Alexander Lukashenko recently visited Naypyidaw to meet with Myanmar's military leader, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, becoming only the second leader to visit since the coup. This visit occurred shortly before national polls widely condemned as a sham.
