A passenger bus carrying approximately 40-50 people plunged into the river near the Daulatdia ferry terminal in Rajbari district, about 65-84 kilometers west of Dhaka. The accident occurred on Wednesday as the bus attempted to board a ferry. Initial reports indicate the bus lost control, leading to the disaster. Rescue teams, including navy divers, have recovered between 18 and 24 bodies from the sunken bus.
