The People's Republic of China (PRC) is the official name for China, a major global player with significant geopolitical and economic influence. Currently, the PRC is newsworthy due to its complex relationship with Taiwan. Recently, Xi Jinping, the PRC's supreme leader, met with the chairperson of Taiwan's main opposition party, the Kuomintang (KMT), in Beijing. This meeting, the first of its kind in nearly a decade, occurs amidst intensifying defense discussions surrounding Taiwan.
