Tayba al-Khawad

Tayba al-Khawad is a village located in River Nile State in northern Sudan. It is situated near Deim al-Qarai, another village, and is connected to it by a passenger ferry across the River Nile. Tayba al-Khawad is currently newsworthy due to a recent tragic incident involving the sinking of a passenger boat traveling between Tayba al-Khawad and Deim al-Qarai. The boat, carrying approximately 30 passengers, including women, children, and elderly individuals, capsized due to high waves. As of recent reports, at least 21 people have died, and rescue efforts are underway to locate about a dozen missing individuals.
