Ternate is a city located in the Northern Molucca Sea region of Indonesia. Recent news focuses on a significant 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck in the vicinity. The earthquake's epicenter was located approximately 127km west-northwest of Ternate, at a depth of 35km. This seismic event triggered a tsunami alert for areas within 1,000km of the epicenter. Reports indicate that the quake has already caused at least one fatality due to building collapse in the Manado area. The Soekarno bridge in Manado was visibly shaken.
