Agència Catalana del Patrimoni Cultural

The Agència Catalana del Patrimoni Cultural is a cultural heritage agency of the Generalitat (Government) of Catalonia. It is currently newsworthy due to its involvement in the establishment of the Consorci del Patrimoni Romà de Tàrraco (Consortium of Roman Heritage of Tarraco). This consortium, created in partnership with the Generalitat and the Ayuntamiento (City Council) of Tarragona, aims to improve the management, conservation, and promotion of the Roman ruins of Tarraco, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The recent signing of the regulatory agreement marks the official launch of the consortium, which will have an annual budget of approximately 8 million euros and a staff of 89 employees. The consortium is expected to generate opportunities for the city of Tarragona by enhancing the management of its Roman heritage.
