Bicimad

Bicimad is Madrid's public electric bicycle service. It's newsworthy due to its recent expansion both within Madrid and, for the first time, beyond the city's borders. Recently, the Ayuntamiento de Madrid announced the installation of 20 new Bicimad stations in six districts on the periphery of the city. Furthermore, Bicimad is extending its reach to Pozuelo de Alarcón, making it the first municipality outside of Madrid to have its own Bicimad network, featuring 30 stations and 400 bicycles. This expansion highlights the service's growing popularity and importance as a sustainable transportation option. The service was relaunched with a renewed image and expansion plans in 2023 and has been a key initiative of the current mayoral administration.
