Capital Development Authority

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is the primary government body responsible for the planning, development, and maintenance of Pakistan's capital city, Islamabad. Recently, the CDA has been in the news due to a tragic hospital fire that resulted in the deaths of 14 infants in the neonatal ward of a hospital within its jurisdiction. Following an interim inquiry that revealed a lack of essential fire safety protocols, Pakistan's prime minister ordered the suspension of eight officials associated with the hospital and directed criminal proceedings against them.
