The Frauenhofschule, an elementary school in Frankfurt, Germany, is currently at the center of a controversy regarding the cost of security measures. The school's treppengeländer (stair railing) is reportedly only 103 centimeters high, falling short of the required 110 centimeters. Due to this discrepancy, the city is paying for a security service to guard the railing, even during school holidays. Twelve security personnel are employed in shifts, resulting in a weekly cost of approximately 13,700 euros, amounting to a six-figure sum. The school's principal has expressed frustration and disbelief at the situation, stating that taxpayer money is being wasted.
