Gravenchon Refinery

The Gravenchon Refinery, now owned by North Atlantic, is the second largest refinery in France. It's currently newsworthy due to the government's request for it to rapidly increase its production of diesel and jet fuel (kerosene). This request stems from concerns about potential energy shortages linked to heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and a global increase in energy prices. The government, led by Sébastien Lecornu, is taking measures to mitigate the impact of the energy shock and secure the country's energy supply. While increased production from Gravenchon and other French refineries is desired, it's acknowledged that these efforts may not fully compensate for lost production capacity elsewhere.
