Indonesia National Armed Forces

The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) are a key component of national security and disaster response in Indonesia. Recently, the TNI has been actively involved in combating severe wildfires in Borneo. Between January and July, these fires have ravaged over 200,000 hectares of land, an area significantly larger than the capital city, Jakarta, and have generated widespread smog. In response to this escalating environmental crisis, the Indonesian government has deployed an additional 1,500 soldiers to Borneo. This deployment underscores the TNI's crucial role not only in defense but also in supporting civilian efforts during natural disasters. The ongoing efforts highlight the military's capacity and commitment to addressing significant national challenges, including environmental protection and public safety.
