Median Strategies was an anonymous website recently revealed to be operated by a 21-year-old college graduate. The organization gained notoriety for publishing widely shared, but fake, election polls in key states like Wisconsin, Nevada, and California. Its operations came to light and subsequently ceased after a reporter from the Los Angeles Times began questioning the polls. In an unsigned statement, Median Strategies cited a "short-term social ex..." as the reason for shutting down and withdrawing its polling data. The emergence of Median Strategies highlights concerns about the proliferation of unvetted and potentially misleading election surveys, particularly in the context of competitive political races, and underscores the dangers of misinformation in electoral processes.
