Nanhai Jiu 115

Nanhai Jiu 115 is a rescue vessel operated by the Nanhai Rescue Bureau of China’s Ministry of Transport. It recently gained prominence due to its involvement in a significant maritime rescue operation in the South China Sea. On July 25, 2026, Nanhai Jiu 115 was instrumental in picking up crew members from a life raft belonging to the Vietnamese vessel Khoi Nguyen, which had sunk. This rescue occurred near Fiery Cross Reef in the Spratly Islands. The Khoi Nguyen had 62 crew members on board, and while 48 survivors were eventually accounted for, several remained missing, prompting ongoing search efforts.
