Sirt

Sirt is a Catalan company that forms part of a joint venture (UTE) with Connecta, and is partnering with Huawei to deploy and manage the XCAT fiber optic network for the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia). Sirt is newsworthy because the UTE they are part of, with Huawei as a key supplier, was recently re-awarded a 127 million euro contract to deploy this network. This decision followed a review by the Centre de Telecomunicacions i Tecnologies de la Informació (CTTI) which validated the technical solvency of Sirt and Huawei's offer, resolving a temporary suspension of the contract. The award is significant because it reaffirms the Generalitat's confidence in Sirt and Huawei, despite potential concerns surrounding Huawei's involvement and after challenges from other companies like Telefónica.
