Solong

The Solong is a container ship that was involved in a fatal collision with the Stena Immaculate, an anchored oil tanker, in the North Sea off the coast of Yorkshire in March of last year. The ship is newsworthy because its captain, Vladimir Motin, has recently been sentenced to six years in jail for manslaughter by gross negligence in connection with the death of a crew member during the incident. The collision triggered a large fire and rescue operation. Motin was found guilty in a London court.
