The other study, involving an international team including Frankfurt scientists, focuses on prehistoric mammals, specifically Waldelefanten (forest elephants) that lived in present-day Northern Germany 125,000 years ago. Researchers analyzed fossilized teeth discovered in a lignite mine, revealing insights into the elephants' migration patterns and their interaction with Neanderthals.
