Aurélie

Aurélie is not a real person, but a fictional online persona created by Théo Denner. Denner, a 25-year-old lumberjack dubbed the "lumberjack of Doubs," created the fake profile of "Aurélie" on Facebook and Snapchat between 2018 and 2023 to contact young men in his area, aged 13-19. He used this persona to engage in sextortion, sexual harassment, and in some cases, rape, against 42 victims. The case is newsworthy because Denner was recently sentenced on March 25, 2026, to 18 years in prison by the criminal court of Doubs for his crimes, which included rape, sexual assault, and invasion of privacy. The prosecutor had requested 20 years. The case highlights the dangers of online manipulation and the severe consequences of sextortion and online sexual abuse.
