Jennifer Runyan

Jennifer Runyan is an FBI official who provided information regarding the attack on Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan. She stated that the attack, carried out by Ayman Ghazali, was an act of terrorism inspired by Hezbollah. Ghazali, a 41-year-old naturalized US citizen from Lebanon, crashed his truck into the synagogue on March 12th and opened fire. Runyan revealed that Ghazali made a video before the attack expressing his intent to inflict maximum casualties. The FBI's assessment highlights the influence of foreign terrorist ideologies on domestic extremism and underscores the ongoing threat to religious institutions. The synagogue had been strengthening its security measures prior to the attack.
