Jose Alejandro Zamora Yrala, the director of AOG Technics and a former techno DJ, has been sentenced to four years and eight months in prison in London for orchestrating a £40 million global fraud. He sold over 60,000 fake aircraft engine parts between 2019 and 2023, falsifying paperwork related to CFM56 engines used in Airbus and Boeing aircraft. These parts, originating from his garage outside London, found their way into planes operated by major airlines including American Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Delta, and Ryanair. The discovery of the scam led to safety alerts from regulators and the grounding of aircraft.
