Lukas Kwasniok

Lukas Kwasniok, a 44-year-old football coach, was recently the manager of 1. FC Köln. He joined the club at the start of the season after four years with SC Paderborn, signing a contract until 2028 with the aim of leading the team to stability. However, Kwasniok was recently dismissed from his position due to the team's poor performance and relegation fears. Despite often playing well, Köln struggled to secure victories, achieving only two wins in the last 18 games. The decision to fire Kwasniok came after a 3-3 draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach, a result that failed to provide the needed boost. Assistant coach René Wagner, who previously worked under Steffen Baumgart, has taken over. The club's sporting director, Thomas Kessler, cited the need for change after a period of disappointing results, despite Kwasniok's belief that he was the right person for the job.
