Nandito Badea

Nandito Badea, aged 21, has been found guilty of involvement in a targeted knife attack on Pouria Zeraati, a British journalist of Iranian origin. The attack occurred outside Zeraati's west London home in 2024. Zeraati was working for Iran International, a Farsi-language dissident broadcaster, at the time of the incident. The court heard that the stabbing was a planned attack ordered by a third party acting on behalf of the Iranian state. Badea, along with George Stana (25), were convicted for their roles in the assault. This conviction highlights the ongoing concerns regarding the safety of journalists, particularly those critical of foreign regimes, and the alleged extraterritorial actions of states against dissidents.
