Nathan Law

Nathan Law is an exiled Hong Kong activist and former leader of the Hong Kong student protest movement. He is currently living with a substantial bounty on his head issued by Chinese authorities. Law recently stated he was unsurprised by the discovery of a spy ring that had photographed him entering the Oxford Union in November 2023. This revelation came to light following the conviction of two men, Chi Leung Wai and Chung Biu Yuen, in the UK for assisting a foreign intelligence service, specifically China. These individuals were found guilty of spying and surveilling dissidents through a "shadow policing" operation. Law's current newsworthiness stems from his status as a prominent pro-democracy figure and a target of alleged Chinese state surveillance operations abroad, highlighting ongoing concerns about Beijing's reach and tactics against dissidents in democratic countries.
