Peekachu

Peekachu was a beluga whale that recently arrived at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago as part of a large-scale rescue effort. The whale was transported from a shuttered Canadian theme park in Ontario, which could no longer care for its beluga population. This move was part of an international initiative involving multiple zoos and aquariums aiming to rescue approximately 30 whales. Sadly, Peekachu died just days after its arrival in Chicago, despite the extensive efforts made to ensure its well-being during and after the transport. The whale's death highlights the challenges and risks associated with relocating and caring for these animals, particularly those from declining or closed facilities.
