KP Sharma Oli is a former Prime Minister of Nepal, having served three terms. He is currently newsworthy due to his recent arrest in connection with a deadly crackdown on protests that occurred last year, ultimately leading to the collapse of his government. The protests, reportedly involving members of Generation Z, resulted in numerous deaths. Following the swearing-in of a new Prime Minister, Balendra Shah, Oli and his former Home Affairs Minister, Ramesh Lekhak, were detained. Oli was taken to a clinic in Kathmandu as part of standard police procedure after his arrest.
