Takashi Kobayashi

Takashi Kobayashi is a spokesperson for Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), the operator of both the Fukushima nuclear plant and the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power plant. He is newsworthy because he announced the suspension of the restart of the No. 6 reactor at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa plant, the world's largest nuclear power plant, just hours after operations began on Wednesday. The plant, located in Niigata province, had been closed since the 2011 Fukushima disaster. The restart was delayed a day due to an alarm malfunction.
