Timothy Heng

Timothy Heng was a Singaporean national who organised adventure expeditions. He was recently killed when Mount Dukono in North Maluku, Indonesia, erupted. Heng had contacted a local tour company to guide a group of hikers up Dukono and other mountains in the region. Despite local villagers not informing him of any prohibition against climbing, the volcano erupted while he was leading hikers. His stepsister mentioned that the family found comfort in knowing his final moments were spent helping others, and that he was not on the expedition for social media purposes. Heng is remembered as someone who prioritized helping others.
