Zhang Youxia

Zhang Youxia, formerly China's highest-ranking general and Vice-Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), is currently under investigation for suspected "serious violations of discipline and law," a euphemism for corruption. This probe, confirmed by China's defense ministry, represents a significant escalation of Xi Jinping's ongoing anti-corruption campaign within the People's Liberation Army (PLA). Zhang, a combat veteran and once considered one of Xi's most trusted military advisors, held a prominent position in China's hierarchy.
