Israel issues new forced displacement orders in southern Lebanon
Israel's military has issued new forced displacement orders to residents in over 10 towns and villages in southern Lebanon, including areas north of the Litani River, despite an existing truce with Hezbollah. The orders, posted on X by the Israeli military's Arabic-language spokesman, instruct residents to evacuate their homes immediately and move at least 1,000 meters into open areas for their safety. These warnings come amid ongoing Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon and following threats from Israel's military chief of staff to strike Hezbollah beyond the current zone of Israeli control. The US has urged direct peace negotiations, but Lebanon insists Israel must fully implement the ceasefire first.
