Kenya records third Ebola case, linked to first patient who died
Kenya has confirmed its third case of the Bundibugyo virus, a strain of Ebola, with the latest patient being a 65-year-old woman who is a close relative of the first two cases. This new case was identified after she developed symptoms and was placed in quarantine on October 6. The Ministry of Health stated that the patient is receiving supportive care and is showing signs of improvement. All three Kenyan cases are linked to the ongoing Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The ministry emphasized that there is no evidence of community transmission in Kenya, and the risk to the public remains low, with most identified contacts being traced and quarantined.
