Teacher wounded in Oregon school shooting played dead after she was shot
A teacher wounded in a shooting at Silver Rail elementary school in Bend, Oregon, has shared her account of the incident. Becky Drury stated she was shot at close range by 16-year-old Griffin J John II before she could intervene. John, a former student armed with a shotgun, entered the school and proceeded toward a special education classroom, where he shot six people. The attack resulted in the deaths of teacher Megan Lambert and three children. Drury, who sustained severe injuries to her hand and arm, said she pretended to be dead after being shot, contradicting earlier reports that she had shielded a student. Another teacher tackled the gunman before a parent fatally shot him. The shooting is under investigation, and the shotgun was reportedly purchased legally.
