Event Overview
V32 is a shortwave numbers station broadcasting encrypted messages in Farsi within Iran. Numbers stations, a relic of the Cold War, transmit coded messages believed to be intended for spies. V32 gained renewed attention following reported attacks on Iran by Israel and the United States on February 28th. Shortly after these alleged attacks, Iran reportedly shut down internet access nationwide. Simultaneously, V32 began broadcasting, emitting sequences of numbers in Farsi, preceded by the warning "Attention!". The broadcasts occur multiple times daily at fixed intervals. The resurgence of this type of communication raises concerns about espionage activities and heightened tensions in the region, reminiscent of Cold War-era tactics.
