Aden International Airport

Aden International Airport, a key transportation hub in Yemen, has recently become a focal point of conflict. The airport was targeted by ballistic missiles and explosive-laden drones launched by Yemen's Houthi rebels. These attacks occurred as fighting intensified between the Iran-aligned Houthi group and Saudi-backed government forces. The recent assaults underscore the airport's strategic importance amidst the ongoing civil war. The Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a crucial shipping route for energy exports, has also seen increased fighting, highlighting the broader strategic significance of the region where Aden is located. The Houthi attacks on the airport demonstrate their capability and intent to disrupt government operations and control key infrastructure, making Aden International Airport a significant location in the current phase of the Yemeni conflict.
