Gwanghwamun Square, located in the historic heart of Seoul, South Korea, is a significant public space. Recently, it served as the venue for a comeback concert by the globally renowned K-pop group BTS. This event marked the group's first performance with all seven members since October 2022, following their hiatus for mandatory military service. The concert was highly anticipated, with initial estimates projecting a crowd of 260,000. However, the actual attendance reached 104,000, leading to a decline in the stock price of BTS's agency, Hybe. Despite the lower-than-expected turnout, the concert was livestreamed on Netflix, attracting 18.4 million viewers worldwide. Due to the large crowd size, South Korean authorities implemented heightened security measures, including concerns about potential terrorist acts, highlighting the event's national importance and the square's role as a focal point for significant cultural events.
