Kirchsee

Kirchsee is a part of the Wismar Bay, located in Germany. It has recently become newsworthy due to a humpback whale, nicknamed Timmy, repeatedly becoming stranded within its waters. The whale first became stuck around March 23rd and, after freeing itself, re-entered the bay and became stranded again. Greenpeace, including marine biologist Thilo Maack, and the water police have been monitoring the situation, using inflatable boats and drones. The current strategy, according to veterinarian and whale expert Jan Herrmann, is to leave the whale undisturbed, hoping it will find its way back to the open sea on its own. As of the latest reports, the whale has disappeared from the bay, and the water police are searching for it.
