Her efforts were significantly supported by a US$5,000 donation in 1999 from retired American teacher Ronald Sakolsky, who was inspired by her work. Sakolsky is now being invited to visit the forest that grew from his contribution, highlighting a decades-long personal connection to the region's environmental efforts.
