The whale, nicknamed Timmy, was first spotted in the Baltic Sea in early March, far from its usual Atlantic habitat. It is now trapped in a shallow coastal area near the island of Poel. Several rescue attempts have been made, including plans to use air cushions to refloat the injured animal. However, the whale appears weakened and sick, and its chances of survival are uncertain. A 500-meter restricted area has been established around the whale to allow it to rest and potentially free itself.
