Pilbara

The Pilbara region of Western Australia is currently newsworthy due to severe weather events. Recently, ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle impacted the region, bringing strong winds and dust, causing red skies and flash flooding. While Narelle has been downgraded to a tropical low, severe weather warnings remain. Furthermore, Severe Tropical Cyclone Mitchell is approaching the Pilbara coast and is expected to make landfall as a category 3 storm between Exmouth and Onslow, potentially bringing wind gusts up to 195km/h. Emergency warnings are in place along the north-west coast of Western Australia.
