Taiz axis

The Taiz axis refers to a significant front in Yemen's protracted civil war, where the internationally recognized government forces, backed by a Saudi-led coalition, are engaged in intense battles against the Iran-aligned Houthi group. This area is strategically important for controlling territory and restoring state authority across Yemen. Recent developments indicate a surge in military operations, with Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council announcing campaigns to retake Houthi-held lands. The intensified fighting in the Taiz axis is part of a broader effort by the Yemeni government to push back against Houthi advances and reassert control. The conflict's escalation, marked by claims of cross-border attacks, underscores the critical and volatile nature of the Taiz axis as a focal point in the ongoing struggle for power in Yemen.
