Val d'Aran, a valley situated in the Catalan Pyrenees, Spain, is currently newsworthy due to a recent visit by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and his wife, Begoña Gómez. The couple spent a weekend in the area, engaging in activities such as cycling in Vilamòs and sampling local cuisine in Escuñau, specifically at Casa Turnay. Sánchez's trip followed a visit to Iran, and he was seen cycling through Bossòst, Canejan, and the Toran valley, with promotion of the Vielha parador. This is not their first visit, as they also traveled to the area in November for hiking. The region's appeal as a destination for leisure and outdoor pursuits, along with the Prime Minister's choice of Val d'Aran for a personal getaway, has brought it renewed attention.
