The Gobierno Valenciano (Valencian Government) is the regional government of the Valencian Community in Spain. It is currently in the news due to its efforts to address housing needs in areas impacted by the DANA storm (a period of intense rainfall) that occurred in October 2024. The government is implementing a plan, a version of the 'Plan Vive del Consell', to construct prefabricated homes in affected municipalities, starting with Albal. This initiative involves industrialised construction methods to quickly provide fully equipped housing. The government has secured land in over 300 municipalities, including 60 within the DANA-affected zone, for its 'Plan Vive' housing program. This includes land suitable for projects like Casa47 and the aforementioned prefabricated housing initiative. The Vice President and Consellera of Housing, Susana Camarero, recently presented the industrialised construction of 30 new homes as part of this program, highlighting the government's commitment to providing housing solutions in the region.
