Orion-Kapsel

The Orion-Kapsel, or Orion capsule, is NASA's spacecraft designed for deep-space human missions, particularly within the Artemis program. It represents a key component in the effort to return humans to the Moon for the first time in over half a century. Orion is newsworthy due to the recent successful launch of the Artemis 2 mission, which uses the Orion capsule to send a crew of astronauts on a lunar flyby. This mission, launched atop the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, marks a significant milestone in human space exploration and is seen as the beginning of a new era. The Artemis program, and consequently the Orion capsule, is also relevant due to the ongoing space race with China, as both nations vie for lunar dominance. The successful launch of Artemis 2 underscores the progress and significance of the Orion capsule in achieving NASA's lunar exploration goals.
