Pegasus

Pegasus is a spyware developed by the Israeli firm NSO Group. It's capable of infecting smartphones and allowing operators to extract data, including calls, messages, photos, and emails, as well as remotely activate microphones and cameras. Pegasus is newsworthy due to its alleged use by governments to target dissidents, journalists, and political opponents. Recent events include Poland charging ex-intelligence chiefs for its use, a Saudi dissident being awarded £3m in damages for Pegasus-related hacking and assault, and a Spanish court shelving its investigation into its use against Spanish ministers due to lack of Israeli cooperation.
