Swiss Police

The Swiss Police are the law enforcement agencies within Switzerland. Due to the decentralized nature of the Swiss government, policing is primarily handled at the cantonal level. Recently, the Swiss Police have been heavily involved in the investigation of a devastating fire that occurred at a bar called Le Constellation in Crans-Montana, a ski resort in the canton of Valais, during a New Year's Eve celebration. The fire, which broke out around 1:30 a.m., resulted in dozens of presumed deaths and approximately 100 injuries, many of them grave. The police are actively working to identify all the injured individuals, and are investigating the cause of the blaze.
