Albin Kurti

Albin Kurti is the Prime Minister of Kosovo and leader of the Vetevendosje (Self-Determination) party, an Albanian nationalist movement. He has recently been at the center of Kosovo's political landscape due to a prolonged period of political deadlock. Snap elections were held in December 2025 in an attempt to break this stalemate, with Kurti's Vetevendosje party securing a significant victory, winning nearly half the vote. This victory is expected to allow Kurti to form a new government and end the year-long political crisis. The new government's priorities include securing international loans and reforming the health and education systems. Kurti also served as caretaker prime minister and has stated Kosovo is accepting migrants deported from the US, following an agreement with the Trump administration.
