Ali Muhammad Ali Abd-Al-Rahman

Ali Muhammad Ali Abd-Al-Rahman, also known as Ali Kushayb, is a former leader of the Janjaweed militia in Sudan. He is newsworthy because the International Criminal Court (ICC) sentenced him to 20 years in prison on December 9, 2025, for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in the Darfur region during the conflict in 2003 and 2004. Abd-Al-Rahman was convicted on 27 counts (originally 31) related to killings, rape, and mass displacement.
